• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ok, help.... I'm getting mad.

My hindle developed the rattle in North Carolina. Since then it is getting worse. I was told to "drill" out the rivet and replace with hex bolts. Here is the problem ---- I have broken 2 drill bits trying to remove the rivet. I'm at a loss. Now the rivet is looser, noisier, and I have no idea how to get it out. No one here to help so I'm on my own. Any ideas?????

I would take a Dremel tool to it and cut the heads off if it were me. You might even be able to use side cutters as high as that's sitting now.

With that much of it sticking out, I'd tape up the shield, cut off the rivet with a hacksaw, and punch it through. As an alternative, you could protect the shield and try to pry it out with a pair of sidecutters.

Oh yeah...the right cuss words always help.

No luck finding his dremel. I taped the shield and found a saw "scary huh" LOL. Got it loose enough and got mad --- just grabbed pliers and pulled it out. Need to get the other two out, but since my tools are limited, it looks like a trip to Sears. I put a bolt in where I removed the rivet. Just a temporary fix until I get what I need, however it seems to be holding well and best of all ---- no more rattle.

That's true, I could have you fix it, but I'll never learn how to do things if I don't even try ;)

It's a little late to save the first one but on the others try Loctite Super Glue. Not the gel type. I've used it on all the Hindle's formerly loose, rattling rivets with super success. They are tight and totally quiet. Fixin them took 10 seconds each and involved zero cuss words. Sorry you're having such difficulties.

"what's a Hindle"?????:hun:

For tools that get limited use, I often use Harbor Freight. They have all sorts of Dremel knock offs packed in many different accessory kits.
