• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ok drone lovers, don't do this

Well....

I may have done a couple but they did get some great footage...after all if we can watch it

About 3/4 of these drone operations were illegal. It makes it harder for the rest of us to find areas to fly when so many people just ignore the laws.

i really want to get a drone, but i can't justify the cost of one right now, just to own one is just not a good reason for me YET

A question from a non-drone operator. Do they have a drone finder option on the controls for use when one goes down unexpectedly?

It would seem like a big waste of money to lose it on one of those early flights.

they sell a GPS tracker that you can attach to one that will tell you where it goes down. it is not made just for drones

It depends on the drone. My Phantom 4 is GPS enabled, and once turned on remembers its starting point. I can activate a "go home" function and it climbs to 85 feet, returns to the starting point, and lands slowly. I have to be sure there are no obstructions on the trip back, otherwise it's an easy way to get the drone back.

I suspect a lot of the crashes in the video are simpler models which must be hand flown. Less expensive drones are harder to fly.
