• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil Spill

Forgive me gang, this hasn't much to do with Spyders but is of paramount interest to every single one of us. Especially those of us living in coastal areas like Kim & I, here on the Gulf Coast of FL. If this thing continues unchecked, it will eventually impact every single Spyder ryder in the world.

This is a comprehensive informative video of how the relief well is being accomplished and will hopefully stop the flow of oil in the blow out in the Gulf. Very interesting, as well as cautiously encouraging... Len

Thanks! :2thumbs:

I sure hope they can get this under control.... I think we'll see the environmental damage from this for a good 40 years unfortunately..:(

:gaah: We all feel your pain, even way up here in Northern Vermont. Let's hope that this latest attempt will be successful so that we can put all our efforts into cleaning up this mess and repairing the environmental damage that continues after 80+ days.
Let's also hope that mother nature is more forgiving than mankind.

 I have been out there many times over the last 80 days. Its really worse than we have been told. I have seen slicks 32 miles across, red/brown sludge for miles. The coastline of LA has been devastated and the fishing industry has really suffered. It trickles down to the restraunts, suppliers and the consumers. What has been done is a joke so far and IMHO its way too late to applaud BP for anything. The real test will be in seeing if they will stay true to thier commitment to pay for all cleanup and the honest losses of revenue for all affected.

No applause here

I've not heard an ounce of applause on BP's behalf. I just posted this vid so that those interested could see just how it's possible to hit a 10" casing with a drill bit some 15,000 below the sea floor and how that would facillitate plugging the hole.. Len

Len, that will be quite a task. I do hope they can make it though. From the info I have received, the new hole will release the pressure on the broken pipe and allow the oil to flow up into the new platform, where they can control it. My fingers and toes are crossed

I'm speechless but not really surprised. We know that most corporations put profits over safety no matter what.

:yikes:

Us humans just don't learn... and history continues to repeat itself. We've had viable electric cars for many years now (EV1 comes to mind) - but big oil has kept these products from hitting the market.

Very sad indeed.
