Oil Spill in our little town...

Well... awoke this morning to the smell of oil. Seems an oil pipeline about 5 miles from my house leaked 840,000 gallons of oil into our local river. The whole area smells like oil--- even closer to downtown Battle Creek. I'm sure Scotty can smell it near his home too.

This is a small river system--- can't imagine this will go away anytime soon.

I haven't noticed it. We are near a different creek than the spill, and nowhere near the river. Big mess...and will get bigger as it carries downstream. Real shocked that the company didn't have any firm response plan in place, and also shocked that their pumping system couldn't detect the drop in pressure.

Yeah-- you would think just from a $$$$ standpoint they wouldn't want nearly a million gallons of oil leaking out!

I just can't fathom the mess this is gonna make to this small river. I guess all the fish in the area of the Historic Bridge Park are dead.

Things just keep getting worse. Drove along the river last night and you can just smell your way along it....

Very sad indeed.
