• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil Dipstick

When checking the oil level we find it difficult to tell exactly where it is on the dipstick. We can tell it's above the minimum but difficult to exactly where. Have tried laying the stick on a paper towel which helps. Any tips or tricks?

file??

I carefully filed three groves in the space one reads the oil level on the dipstick. Seem like the 1330 motor dosent use any oil between changes.
The paper method does work well though.

I scuffed mine up with a Scotch Brite Pad. Cleaned it good. It helps but it is still hard to read.

 I just checked mine, and the dipstick has all sorts of holes and stuff in it to catch the oil, and help show you the level...
If I get a couple of moments: I'll take a picture of the darned thing! :D

Drill a 1/8" hole on you dipstick on your minimum line and max line and it will be easy to see. good luck and I hope it will help you.

I simply slide me finger along the dipstick, when I get oil on it, I know that where the level is at.I always pull it out first, wipe it, reinsert and then check.

I had the same problem; there's more of a smear than a distinct line on the dipstick. Someone on another thread suggested inserting and wiping the dipstick 3 or 4 times before reading it, and I found that helps reduce the smear. I also use the paper towel method.
