• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil Change versus Maintenance Schedule

When I had my 2010 RT-S everything seemed so simple with respect to when I would have an oil change and/or maintenance service. I could gauge by every 3,000 miles or increments. However, with the new extended oil change parameters, I personally found when to do what a bit confusing.

It seems now, and please someone correct me if I'm way off base, that the oil change (note this is a deceptive label because there are many other things that are required to be performed other than oil change) is for every 4,700 miles. If you ride more than 4,600 miles annually, then your true maintenance schedule (which is performed in addition to the oil change and the other things mentioned above) is or appears to be 9,300 miles, 14, 000 miles or 2 years whichever comes first and 19,000 miles or 5 years whichever comes first.

Is this basically correct? Thanks for any input.

Let's see..!!

As I see it the mechanical maintenance stays the same. The oil changes will now not be at the same time. It is still your choice to extend the intervals but don't go beyond. I still change my oil at or about the 3000 mile mark but know I can go farther..:dontknow:
