• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Filled up twice today. The morning fill returned a hair over 40mpg. The evening fill up returned 41mpg. :2thumbs: Wall E just turned 1200 miles. Running 87 octane I had been getting 37mpg. The last 4 fills I started using 93 octane, with 3 gallons of 91 pure gas thrown in. This was mostly back roads (two lane) doing anywhere from 30mph to 50mph. Two short 65mph interstate runs. Having come from a wing trike that never got over 34mpg in 20,000 miles. I am happy with that for sure. :thumbup: Tom :trike:

I don't think I've ever gotten over 31 mpg myself.
I'm sort of large though... and perhaps like acceleration too much. :D

Congrats Tom and welcome to this club :yes: Yesterdays ride with two up and speeds ranging from 65 to 30's using 91 octane pump gas I got 41.3 mpg and the 2012 that was with us got 26 mpg. The 2014 RT's are winners :firstplace:
 
Well hold on a minute. Rode one up 122.5 miles yesterday @60-65 and used 3.35 gal. Thats 36 mpg on a 2013 RTS SE5. 90 octane and I weigh 237#. Also had 20 mph direct x-wind. Not bad for the old girl eh! It was a two way round trip of 61 miles each way. (no one way grade.)

Wait a minute.... Hold the press.... If you're basing your mileage claims off of the bikes odometer. It's consistently off 3.4% (2mph at 60). That means you are only getting 96.6% of measured mileage or 39.6mpg...... :roflblack:
 
Where are you getting the, "Off 2 mph at 60..." info from?
Mine tracks consistently within 1 mph with GPS and radar; at up to 65 mph. :thumbup:

So that would mean the pre 14's are getting worse mileage :yikes:
 
2014 RTS Gas Mileage

Filled up twice over the past weekend, first fill up was 41 and that involved about 100 miles of interstate driving, then onto crooked mountain roads. Second fill up got "45", totally awesome. Very pleased with the mileage, just turned 1200 miles. Back and forth to work which is about 10 miles in stop and go traffic, 31 mpg. And I'm "not using the ECo mode".
 
Glad to hear you have broke the "magic 40" for mpg on your new 2014.

I have still yet to see that number--but got 37 once (first tank) and 36 on all my other tanks. I have not done the leisurely, low mph rydes on country roads yet. (I am going for performance on twisties with steep grades)--so that is another story.

Based on other reports--the 40 mpg is a doable number, as many are reporting similar.

I am not worried about corrected numbers, or odo's being off by a little bit. That is a common thing, and based on the numbers being reported by the group as a whole--it all evens out in the scheme of things. I check my mileage for the heck of it--just to see what ballpark I am in. Being accurate to 3 decimals or better, does not excite me that much. It implies more accuracy than we are actually achieving. If someone asks me about the mileage, I can say with confidence--I am getting 36 mpg on the 2014 and the 2011 is getting 31 mpg. Close enough for me since this is not a cycle test or a Consumer Reports thing.
