• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Off the Fence

I just picked up my new 2012 RT Limited this afternoon. It is often said that seldom does reality meet up with expectations. However in this case reality has exceeded my expectations!
As I posted in another thread, I was on the fence about making this purchase. I was riding a 2009 Goldwing, and I loved it. The Goldwing was the best motorcycle I ever owned. For that matter it looks to be the best motorcycle I ever will own.

Now that I have entered the world of Spyders, I don't think there is any going back! I can't compare the Spyder to the Goldwing because it is not a motorcycle. For me the Spyder is just so much more!

The ride = It is much smoother! Frost heaves, large road cracks, small pot holes, etc, etc, are now reduced to non events.

The SE 5 Semi Auto Trans = The more you use it the more you love it!

The Sound System = Crystal Clear at highway speeds at half volume! The iPod connection and playlist control is fantastic!

The fun factor = this is just off the charts!

Sandy stop signs = At 5'6" this was always an adventure for me, especially with my wife on the back. No more!

I could go on and on, but after only 80 miles, I have not even the remotest of regrets , except that I did not get off the fence sooner! I thank my friend for showing me his new Spyder! He also used to ride a Goldwing.

So if there are any people thinking about getting off a motorcycle and getting a Spyder, most definitely do it! You will not regret it!

Congrats & Welcome to the SpyderHood

:yes:Glad your Happy

:clap:Any plans for SpyderFest or Spyders In The Adirondacks?

:congrats: I'm glad you crossed over. The Spyder is a splendid touring machine, and gets the vast majority of my touring miles, for many of the same reasons you noticed so quickly.

Glad you're happy with your Spyder. I can relate to the worries at stops when you're only 5'6". I'm 5' 4" and, believe me, it's very nice not to have to worry about dropping a bike when you stop. I really believe that my wife would have stopped riding with me if I had remained on my BMW and that would have taken much of the fun out of it for me.

WE Told you So

As we said in the other thread, you won't regret this move and the more you ryde it the better you are going to like it. I did 200 miles on mine yesterday. I stopped for an accident and there were a lot of troopers that showed up there. The sgt. came over to us and said who is riding that front MC. I said that would be me. He said come with me. We got up to my Spyder and he wanted to know all about it. Can you believe that?

:congrats: !!!!

Welcome to the family. Be prepared to answer lots of questions at fuel stops, restaurants, hardware store, etc etc etc!!!!! ;););)

I hate to be the one who says we told you so... but we did!! :D :congrats:
Now keep those wheels spinning and your face grinning... :ohyea:

There were a lot of really good replies to my "on the fence" thread! Now I know first hand why!
