• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thoughts on 1st rydes on my new 2014 RT-SS, SE6
a) smooth as silk
b) I missed the clutch for about the 1st 3 stop lights. After that, I was glad it wasn't there.
c) Ryding mostly twisties it handled as well as my previous 2011 RSS, which surprised me a little. I was expecting a little more mushy feel, but was pleasantly surprised.
d) accidentally turned on the heated grips. I thought the forward position was off.
e) riding buddies said with that large trunk ( in rear) I should have brought a cooler full of beer.
f) 154 mi yesterday and still gas in the tank.
In short, I love this new Spyder.

Just got back from my morning ride... I am now just over 19500 miles since Christmas and loving it more everyday

first ride yesterday

Liked everything except front wheel shake above 55. Must have some of the bad tire batch. Oh, and the radio sounds like an old AM radio from the fifties. It IS a huge improvement over my 2008 RS however, and beats ANY trike with two in the back!

14 RT Limited

Just traded my 13 RTL in Friday for the 14. What a difference! I love it. Still trying to get shifting RPMs down. Seems like between 4-5K is the best. Read a lot about the ECO mode which shifts lower but kinda mushy to me.

I have about 400 miles on my new RT - I concur with the above, and I have to add that the move of the oil dipstick from under the tupperware to under the seat is an incredibly positive change too (don't put gas in it tho :lecturef_smilie:)!!!

My farkle list is much smaller on the 14 than my 10 - I have mounted my chrome analog clock and thermometer to replace the missing analog gauges on the dash, and already added the trunk tray, vented windshield, moveable side vents, (mirror for my SO), Spyder emblems to replace the BRP stickers, shortee antenna (w/US flag), SPYDERPOPS ROCK GUARD, RAM mounts for my GPS & coffee mug, and will pick up my Seal Floorboards today. With that, I'm done. Really.

The advantage to previous RT ownership, is that you already know what you need to make your ryde yours....

Finally, the new service intervals, and other 1330 improvements, make the need (hopefully) for having a dealer close by, a much lower priority. We will see....
