• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Norm's 2011 RT SE5 > Error codes

Hi everyone, My local Can Am RT riding buddy's Trike decided to flash limp mode intermittently.
Using our purchased BRP diagnostics software revealed the following issues that appear to be main cause.
1.Error code; P1130># 1 O2 sensor, testing using (service actions) in BRP all passed as good, OK it may still be bad but the next error below maybe cause of this error(?).
2.Error Code; P2279> indicated large # of repeated air leaks at Intake an/or Throttle Body. Do to the P1130 above on #1 suspect the problem may be #1 throttle body an/or Mas airflow small formed hose bad to that throttle body.
a. After complete removal of side covers on both sides of the RT and disassembled RH pipe side frame and the complete air box, we were able to inspect and tighten possible air leak causing items. Norm found the #1 throttle body to Mas air flow sensor small vacuum hose cracked at OEM preformed bend and a number of surface cracks forming on both #1 & #2 hoses. Yes , this is a 2011 RT SE5 with approximately 45K miles. Replaced both hoses with High temp USA Manufacture "GATES" silicon vacuum hose which Norm was able to pushes locally at auto parts dealer.
3. Error Codes; P2801 & P2806 Gear shifter out of range and angle sensor position not plausible these have been random over along period operating time but seem to be getting worse.
a. We did a reset in BRP Settings tab with ECM selected and selected (RESET) for Gear Position Sensor and went through the gears as required to relearn all positions while trike rear wheel was off the floor and frame properly supported on jack stands.
In Summary we have not proved the fixes yet by actual Road trip which is planned for today in the afternoon. On hopefully a successful trip and on return we will connect up the BRP software and verify. One nagging issue I hope resolves, is that the Vehicle Tab in BRP Total Hours has remained 1070H55 on this Can Am and we have gone several miles since with this not updating (?)

Ahhh yes...!!

Those pesky little hoses to the throttle body. Silicone replacement is thevonlyvway to go cut to the same length. O2 is probably still good but also check the intake manifolds for same cracking as the hoses. Gear positioning sensor can be glitch many due to shifting :dontknow:
