• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Non-Touring Spyder?

Need advice, have a plan to convert regular Spyder into touring mode. Touring comfort seat, touring windsheild,Givi bags,J & M cb set up Highway pegs of some sort, At least 4 inch rizers that would bring bars back a bit(short arms) and a good back rest for wife's comfort. Would like to hear from any one that has gone this route. J Miller in FL

I have not done all the things you want, but it almost sound like you need a RT. It may be cheaper and obviously less time required to do all those mods.

welcome

Have you already purchased the Spyder you are wanting to do this to?

If not, then as stated above it may be cheaper and much easier to buy the RT.

If you already have the Spyder, then we can start tackling things one piece at a time.

Seat, you have a few choices for this. BRP Comfort Seat gives good bang for the buck, but no back rest. Corbin makes a great seat and you can get a ryder and passenger back rest for them as well.

Windshields also have many options. You can go with one of the BRP Touring screens. CHAD makes a big windscreen that is fully adjustable. Others give the Robobrakets with Madstad shield very high praise. There are many more choices out there as well.

Givi bags open from the side, some people like that and some don't. Corbin also makes bags and theirs open from the top.

Not sure about the CB deal.

ISCI, KewlMetal, ESI, and SFB Racing have various selections of footpegs, highway bars, floorboards, and so forth. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding something you like.

KewlMetal and ESI also offer various adjustable handlebar setups.

Hope that helps, and best of luck to you with your modification plans.

Look around on the site

There are many Spyder owners with the setup you are inquiring. Review the forums for threads and pics, then use private msg, email, or post question as you did. I will soon have all mentioned except JM. See my avatar. Welcome aboard and keep looking at member Spyders.ken

Check out the Mods threads. I have 4" risers, a Russell Day-Long seat, front footpeg brackets with mini floorboards, Robobrackets and windshield from Madstad, a throttlemeister, a Bikersfriend back with backrest, HID lights and mudflaps and fendertipz, etc from ESI and a few other small things here and there. I also have added power to my tank bag and outlets on my dash, yes I have been doing some touring on my 08 SM. I have been to LA and back, to Gatlinburg twice, to Niagara falls and to the original Homecoming event in Quebec (very few mods at that time) My spyder is dialed in for me and I love it. I love it the way it is because it is still sporty. The RT is nice, but I want what I have. Make your spyder yours and enjoy.

welcome. I recommend ISCI hwy. pegs and floorboards. The Corbin bags are great but $ Givi Bags are nice to, really a personal preference. Kewl Metal adjustable risers or console with more bar options. Search the Mods threads and look at lots of pics to decide what you like. Enjoy your :spyder: your way.

I do a lot of solo riding but also tour with the wife. I like having the option to outfit my spyder to accommodate both situations. When solo riding I remove the BRP saddlebags and install the mono-cover over the rear Corbin seat.

welcome I'm sure that you will find enough mods on this site to make your :f_spider: fit your needs.
