• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's with the Generic looking registration form?

Not to put a damper on this registration process or be overly paranoid, but I find it odd that BRP didn't publish this registration form as a link off their main website. This registration form is so generic and seems to ask for quite a bit of personal information (last name, address, phone number etc). Nowhere on this form does it show any type of official BRP logo, fonts, representation, disclaimers, contact info, etc. Not even the SSL certificate shows their company name. All I see is some generic text at the bottom of the form that says "This form was created inside of BRP". What the heck does that mean? This registration form is kind of lame. How do we know that some hacker didn't just publish this form trying to gather personal information, a 3rd party marketing company trying to create a "Can-Am customer list" to market/solicit non-BRP, Spyder related products to, or worst yet, a thief trying to find out the exact location of Spyders to steal.

If the registration form URL wasn't published on their Facebook site, I sure would say it looked a little fishy. Maybe next year they can improve on this.

:agree:

BRP uses that same type of link (Google Docs) for the PIN program as well. They probably should just use an official BRP link that redirects to the google site so people don't get antsy.
