• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'mtrying to help a friend with his RT. It's a 2011. His headlights and brake lights won't work. He doesn't have the service manual to go with it. It says check engine. Any suggestions?

I know buddy of mine has a 2008 and few times theres a relay that would pack it in and leave him with out headlights, not sure if it affected his brake lights. I know it is a cheap part and easy too replace think he carrys one on board now. D

Little checking..!!

start with the fuses and relays. On the cover of the fuse boxes there are lables but reseat them all. If all the lights are out it's not bulbs and if the brake lights fail you get check engine or brake warnings...:gaah:

Headlight fuse is MF7 in rear fuse box. Headlight relay is R6. Taillights are fed from F1 of front fuse box. The only things they have in common, from a really quick check, are the ignition switch and main relay.

If both lights are not working and the fuses are good I would look for a ground problem.

Besides the ground on the battery there is a main ground in the back of the bike (under the seat) that you can access by removing the cover under the seat and the left passenger hand grip. Look for the flat silver cable and make sure it is bolted on tight.

Odd combination to loose the head lights and the tail lights, as already posted. The brakes work at all times, the head lights are controlled through the can bus, then a relay and a 20 amp fuse and they are independent of one another from what I can determine. It may be two different problems that are un related and just a coincidence.
