No AM reception

We seldom use the radio, but spend a lot of time chatting via the intercom. While riding alone today, I listened to FM for a little while, then switched to AM and tried to find my favorite local station. I used search, but the radio never locked onto a station, no AM at all. I was riding just north of Tampa and there are several powerful AM stations there. The CB, intercom, and FM all work fine.

Any ideas?

It's funny Mike, but I find that I get no XM reception a "few miles" north (Brooksville) of where you are. My AM gets a lot of what I call "motor static".

I tried the AM dection on mine and found that the static just kind of hummed along with the gearshifts... :gaah: It was completely useless!

The eight-tracks actually play better than the AM with my RT system!:roflblack:

I had some issues with reception on my AM radio until the dealer installed a new antenna (under warranty) - now it sounds great. Contact your dealer. If you get AM reception on your car radio, then you should get the same on the RT.

My AM radio reception has always been terrible. It's all engine static. I guess it could double as a RPM sound gauge.

My am sucks too. I cant get the odd clear station but if I am moving it fades in and out. Our local station is just as bad so it is just a sucky radio I guess.
