There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. This was recently posted on facebook.

From the translation from French, it says two Spyders collided with a cement truck. One person seriously injured.
One spyder burned up due to the collision.

Sad for them. I hope they heal well and learn from the accident.

Ouch! Any more details available?

A few more pictures I did not want to take the time to download.

Here is the direct translated text. No new news yet. It just got posted on FB.

A group of five members of drivers of tricycles hit around 13:30 clock on a cement mixers oncoming. After the first "Spider"-Fahrer could not always dodge in time, collided two pilots trike later against the truck and have been seriously injured. A tricycle caught fire and burned almost completely. One of the wounded was carried out by helicopter to the ukh linz, the second to the hospital in wels. The two latecomers of the trike-Column could decelerate in time and were safe and sound. Hard to know exactly what happened here but it appears the cement truck was blocking the entire roadway. Maybe turning left? Or stopped completely. There may not have been anywhere for the riders to go.

 Sometimes; Crap just happens in front of you, and leaves you with no place to go...
Prayers going out to all of those involved.:pray:

Concrete truck looks like it is sitting at a curve, with a fairly narrow road. Without being there, I would speculate the truck cut the corner. Limited sight distance for the bikes to see the blocked curve.

I think the word of the day here is SLOW DOWN!

Don't ride any faster than your brain can travel and don't trust anyone. You never know what is around a curve, cow-deer-cement truck or your Mother-In Law!
:yikes:

At least it was not a fatal accident.

There's an interesting series on PBS about brains. In the first episode, http://video.pbs.org/video/2365580655, The Brain with David Eagleman, What is Reality?, starting at about 18:30 he discusses the time lag between when an event occurs that we see, and when the brain puts the body into reactive mode. It's about 0.240 seconds. So, if we are driving 60 mph, which is 88 fps, and see an obstacle ahead of us, we will have traveled about 22 feet from the time the event occurred to the time we start reacting to it. And that is if we have trained well to react quickly like the runners leaving the starting blocks that he uses to illustrate it have. There is no way to shorten that time lag as it is a function of how fast our brain processes neurological signals. Our brains process sounds faster than visual stimuli, believe it or not. For a sound the process time is about 0.2 seconds. Visual takes 40 milliseconds longer.

Just happy nobody died. It is a good reminder to slow down and stay alert. Hope they have a full recovery.

So it sounds like it was head on? It's an act of God that no one was killed.
