• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Meet Windsor - the newest member of our family:D He wasn't planned but things happen for a reason and we were in the right place at the right time. Unfortunately Windsor has been in 2 other homes before us in the last month and a half. He was well loved but he couldn't stay where he was. So of course we took him and we are psyched! He's a 2 yr old German Shorthaired Pointed and he'll be going hunting with HDX. He's very gentle, obedient but a little sad right now - I think he misses his old surroundings. He gets over it quick though once you keep him occupied and busy!

Great Dogs and fantastic Hunters those German Short hairs, My old Man had two in his last 20 years.
We Always came back with at least two Pheasants. They will Retrieve anything, Sometimes they'll act dumber than dirt and retrieve anything , Once he ran into a live Skunk and decided to bring it back to us.
Needless to say he slept out side for a couple of days.
Just remember the more you run them the happier they'll be.

I'm glad you were able to help him and he is not in a shelter...good for you.

He will have a happy face soon.

He's beautiful! We recently adopted another Golden Retriever who had been a breeding bitch (I think you can use that word in this context) at a breeder that we had bought previous dogs from. She will be 7 in Jan. and had lived her life in a kennel. She is still fearful of new things and she paces when she is nervous but each day she overcomes another issue. She is now able to get on and off the couch with ease! She is one of the sweetest dogs ever and I love her.

He must be so happy to be Smylinacha's dog. :2thumbs:

A dog with a job is a happy dog indeed! And GSPs are active dogs. :congrats: and the very best of luck with him. He'll come around to his new surroundings quickly. Every day dogs wake up and ask the question, "What are the rules today?" In the wild, they would have to adjust quickly or starve. So dogs are wired to accept changes better than we realize. As long as Winston gets to burn off some of his energy, he will be happy. Energy comes in the physical and mental form. Training sessions can wear a dog out just as much as an afternoon in the field.

Don't mean to give too much advice. :f_spider: Just want to see you be successful with him. nojoke

Thanks everyone! Yep we are psyched:2thumbs: He's getting his walks twice a day - once with HDX before he goes to work and then with me and our nephew when I get home from work. And in between our nephew comes over after school and plays with him. So it's nice that he's not left alone for more than a couple of hours each day. Last night was rough though - we had quite a wind storm going on and he was running in circles and constantly wanting to go out. So I let him out on the run and all he did was whine and run around like he was smelling all the scents that the winds were blowing and we've got tons of wildlife in the woods that surrounds our yard. He finally calmed down later. Yep, like a little kid, he needs a schedule and needs to be kept busy.

He'll be bird hunting soon. And playing frisbee in the yard hopefully. And keeping MIL company once she retires.

Now if the cat will just be nice to him.:sour:
