• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Newbie questions.

Hi all,
Got some great answers to my last question so hope for some more.
I have a new 2016 RT-Ltd, when I use the buttons to lower or raise the air preload there is no movement in the ride hight, like in my previous Goldwings and there is no readings on a pressure gauge on the valve under the seat.
When riding I normaly set the cruise control at 70mph (UK limit ) on the digital speedo. The analogue needle however will sometimes show a steady 80mph and other times low 70s, is this normal and which is correct. I don't want any tickets.
Thanks
Alan.

You need to be on the bike, bike running, brake on and in gear before pressing the buttons. Check it or better yet have some body else measure rear lower fender tip while you make adj. Amount of adj changes depending on weight on the bike.

You have a Limited model so that means that you have a GPS, use the GPS reading on your speed to verify how fast you are going, the GPS should be 2 or 3 MPH slower than what the digital readout is. The GPS is probably the correct reading.

Try adjusting the rear suspension with the bike in motion...
Pump it to it's maximum setting...
Then; stop the bike and take a reading from the valve under the seat.
If it's still at zero: something isn't working!

Good Luck!

Conditions for compressor

1. Let all the air out of the system with the Schrader valve.
2. Close rear trunk and side bags. Very important.
3. Start engine.
4. Set system to highest setting.
5. Put in 1st or reverse.

You should hear the compressor run and the bike raise.

Alan I know what you mean re tickets, if we are 3 kph over, that's $. Ignore the analogue speedo. Verify digital speedo error via gps as suggested above, then you don't need gps on all the time. Digital speed is the one to look at - mine is only 2 kph 'out'. Gotta love cruise ...
