New Vredestein tire on the rear!

Well I have a new Vedestein quatrack 2-0/60/15 mounted on my rear rim. Got looking @ the brake pads, decided this would be the time to replace them. Put an order in to Ron, wasn't ten minutes and received email that they had shipped!!!!!! Wow he's good. Gave me a 25% discount on my next order so will pick up my SE filter and a back up full set of brake pads. That will get me through the year and my expected travels to the west cost and the 3wheel rally in SD. By the time I return back home from there will be near enough mileage to change oil and both filters. perhaps a new rear tire before parking for the winter in 2022.

I sure love my F3-T! Looking for a used RT for my better half who is taking her 3 wheel course in June. Currently working on outfitting her with needed riding gear.

Al, I bet you like that tire so much you hang onto it. Should be just broken in after that trip. It will be my next rear tire shortly. From the research it should be smoother, more grip and quieter than the Q5 at 25,000 miles + that's on there now. If it is, I will be greatly impressed.

I'm sure I'll like it, it is replacing a Q5. Hope I get better mileage from this one; only got 13,000 on the Q5.

Just put my rear Quatrac on last friday, the fronts are getting them in the morning. It is a lot nicer ride than the stock kenda.

I am playing around to see what tire pressure suits my setup. I started at 18 psi and the nanny was kicking in a bit when making turns onto secondary roads from main roads going from faster to slower speeds around the corner.

My wife said that the tire was also "chirping" when I turned into my driveway from the road. I bumped it up to about 22 and it seems to be happier. When I get the fronts on tomorrow I am going to set all 3 of them at 20 and see how she likes it.

markg has one in for sale forum for some reason the mods dont leave sale items on for long

You mean this Advert for an RT for sale?? https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?146885-2015-Spyder-RT-S

Re the leaving of adverts on for long fatboy, if you post an advert & check in on it every now & then, maybe add a post or bump it up occasionally, then it'll probably stay there indefinitely..... . But if someone posts an advert & then never looks at it again; or even worse, doesn't even log on to the Forum again, then cos the OP's obviously not interested in it, the advert might only get left up for something like 3 months or so since the OP's last visit! :banghead:

So if you post an advert - CHECK ON IT OCCASIONALLY, cos if you don't, you'll never know if anyone is interested :banghead: . And if the OP's not interested enough in selling/buying to even look at it every now & then, or maybe even responding to enquiries about it, then why should anyone else be interested & why should we waste the space?? :dontknow:

13,000mi. .... interesting .... I'm pretty sure " teninospyder " got a lot more than that ... and His spyder is actually over the total Max weight for an RT ..... JMHO ..... Mike

Dang, I'm almost twice that and would get a lot more if I didn't enjoy the new DynoJet PV3 tune so much.

That's usually a sign of running pressures that are too HIGH, especially in the rear of a Spyder/Ryker, so the tire has less than ideal traction & the speed change means it's actually spinning a bit during the turn.... hence the 'chirp'!! . So maybe you'd be better off dropping your tire pressure a bit rather than adding more air pressure & decreasing the traction even further, potentially making the loss of traction, subsequent tire spin, and the 'chirping' even worse. :dontknow:

Or try both - be interested to hear how you go?!

So I need to go lower than 18? Guess I'll give 16 a try. (I hate odd numbers)

Plus I am trying to find a good balance between performance and gas mileage. I don't want to go too low and start having my gas used just for turning the wheel and not turning it faster!:ohyea:

On the Vedestein that I just replaced @ 18psi I had 2/32 in the center and 5/32 on the sides left. Indicates to me that I am overinflated @ 18psi. + I only get an increase of 2psi after an hours ride. Am going to run 16psi all the way around on my F-3T, I always am a solo rider.

Got the Quatrac's on the front this morning, dropped pressure on all 3 to 16 psi.

Nanny is still kicking in but I think that may be due to the drivers inability to reduce the throttle due to he was enjoying it so much.

These tires are awesome, definitely a more confident feel to them. :2thumbs:
