New User and RED Spyder

Hey there everybody. I've been a long time reader but just didn't have anything to add besides my desire to have a Spyder outside my front door. ( There is alot of that here.) HA. Ordered my red SE5 in May and have been a giddy little schoolboy ever since. I have had cerebral palsy since birth and balance it not one of my finest features. All throughout life even a two wheeled pedal bike was beyond my ability,,,fell down ALOT trying though. So Can-am has opened a new world for me. Trikes are great but I want a sporty bike like my friends and brother ride. And then there was SPYDER. Anyway enough about me. This site and everyone here have been so informative and helpful to each other and I already have a million plans for spyder just due to what I've read. Thank you everyone. Now; about a thread I saw that said there is something wrong with the color red for spyders. It's sadly true. I am a lucky one who's dealer is very close to home. Was there today and they just happen to be having a open house this weekend - mostly for ATV's - but Can-am rep. for MD, VA, PA and I think WV was on hand today setting up. I asked him about what I had heard and 'tis true, he has heard the rumor confirmed by BRP. Although, no info from him as to how long of a delay there will be for the color red. He did say that yellow and silver SE5's do have a slightly earlier projection date then anticipated though. Instead of end of Nov. it's now end of Oct. --Might have to switch color to yellow if it doesn't knock me out of line. Besides all colors will soon be avail. by ordering the pieces in color of choice and installing them yourself to change the color of your spyder anytime you wish.

Welcome to the forum. Remember you could always buy silver for $400 less and that would pay for half the paint job maybe, depending on what you got done and where. Just a thought. Enjoy your Spyder and I am glad you won't have to fall down trying anymore

I was at my dealers dropping off my bike for it's first service last night and he said the same thing about the red.

Back in April, I originally order a red SM5 and was told end of August. Then he told me he could get me a yellow one faster - this was 2 or 3 weeks after I placed my order. So I
said yes and got my Yellow one a week later! Loving it!

And he told me the SM5 red ones are now end of September.

I had no problem switching and didn't have to wait in any line so maybe you might be able to switch colors!:thumbup:

I ordered the red Spyder myself in late June. I guess that I wasn't aware of the red colored Spyders being a problem to get at the time. What is the issue? Does anyone know? I guess I may not be geting mine until sometimes in the Fall. Oh well! I'll just have to be patient I guess.

I ordered Rec SE5 in Feb. But dealer has agreed to let me have the first SE which hits his floor. If its silver I'll paint it! Welcome and good luck

Well I was gonna order Red SE5, just couldn't see spending the $400.00 on just for RED, so I ordered the Silver and gotten the six spoke rims. But I'm still waiting for mine which I ordered in April.
