• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Current ride is a 1980 Honda Goldwing. Upcoming hip replacement is having me research alternate forms. 2 wheels up front always made more sense to me. Found this forum, read lots (too much information to take in at one time). Some questions for the masses...I can stretch my budget to $10K. Looks like this brings me to 2010-2011? Also looks like a stripped down model will be in order? I ride mostly with my 5 grandkids, camping and on the look out for new interesting places. Currently pulling a small trailer so a trailer hitch would be in order. Thinking a GIVI top bag for passenger backrest and helmet storage. I assume these are do-able? Is my thinking on track? What are the maintenance difference between to 900 and 1000 motors? All inputs are welcomed.

:welcome: to the party. 2010 and 2011 were and are still good years. You can buy a pretty nice RT for your budget amount. I had a 2010 and put 36,500 on it before trading off. Bought a new 2011 in 2012. Still have it and it has 28,000 miles on it. Dealer is going to have that on consignment in the spring--unless somebody jumps on before that.

Here is some good information if you have not yet read it.

If you get an RT you don't need the Givi bag. Lot's of storage in the saddlebags too. If you can stretch to $12,000 you will lots of choices available in used RT probably all the way up to 2013, and maybe even a 2014. The 2014 on has the 1330 engine.

2012 r-t

love this cycle ! not much problems with it at all --- did the oil change and a simple clutch o-ring replacement my self saved couple thousand dollars I would guess ! ride it first - unlike what I seem to do --- walk in and sold not even ride test :banghead: but I do not know I seem to be drawn to great cycles and rides I suppose IMG_20170930_130244.jpg 0902161807.jpg just one of these ... a lot of folks going with the 3 wheels have the knees going south I suppose , and a lot with balance also I guess ... ride-um while ya can !

I know how that works ... But I've owned three Spyders ... and the 1330 is by far the BEST .... ( and consider that BRP NO longer makes the V-Twin for production Spyders - they only make PARTS ) ... I've recently seen some really good buys on 2014 RT's here on the Forum.....go to 4 sale section ......ANNNNNNNNNNND :welcome:.... Mike
