Hey fellow SpydeR owners, wanted to introduce myself to the group. just bought our 2008 phantom black Spyder today from Plano, TX. It will be delivered sometime next week. We are really excited, I actually purchased this for my girl since she doesn't like riding with me on my sportbikes and a little intimidated learning to ride one. I've been trying to get her to ride for so long with no luck. So I pretty much gave up, but then the spyder comes along and changes things a bit. The 1st time we saw it she said " babe look someone owns the batman bike lol " Ever since then we starting looking into it. She's really attracted to the comfort, looks and safety features that the spyder offers along with being easy to ride. So now here we are, She and i are so pumped. She's pumped cause she gets to ride something unique, safe and most of all un intimidating to ride. Im pumped cause I can finally ride with my girl..:2thumbs: that and the fact I get to use the spyder anytime I want haha..
Riding only sportbikes I've become accustomed to the handling, acceleration braking etc that sportbikes offer. Im really into canyon riding especially at good paces and hitting a lot of track days.
Even thought the spyder can't touch my 999R or my 1098R performance wise it still intrigues me. It's different and unique, plus you can ride tons of miles on a Spyder where the Duc's are for trackday/canyons only. So my sense of adventure is aroused and we are ready to ride some serious miles.
Thanks BRP without the Spyder my girl would never get to experience the true joy of riding. The freedom and the wind in your face touches the soul. Finally she will get to experience those things and who knows maybe this will get her ready for a sportbike in the future.. That's why I got her the SM5:thumbup:
I'll post pics once I get it
