New software Update for Spyders Nov 30 '24 - anyone updated their '24 RT? What does it do?

Has anyone Purchased the 2025 PN 219401199 Camera kit, put a hole in the rear shroud similar to where the '25 camera is mounted, and then been able to attach the camera with the screws to attach the supplied mount?? And assure the bike software is updated to current update and turn the camera ON of course - WILL THE CAMERA WORK?

Yes, IF you have the connector (circled in red) on the back side of the bike it will work. You do have to go into your configuration to turn on the camera. If you don't see "enable camera", then just scroll down and it is there on the configure screen.

I did not use the Can Am camera, I used the $40 unit off Amazon mounted through a small hole under the license plate. See post # 36. The male part of the connector is already on the receptacle it is just not populated with pins. I had some small crimp on pins and used then in the connector.

Wished someone would create plug that we can use that could be plugged in using the Amazon camera directly to the Spyder. I’m not an electronic guru so not super comfortable doing that myself. I probably would try myself if I saw a video. I am a very visual person so reading how to do this isn’t an option for me. If someone could make a video of how your making the plug work, that would be great.

Heads up! Spyderextras now has a kit. Note, some of the Spyders were pinned out wrong in the female plug. This might be the problem some members had adding the factory kit. According to Spyderextras, the pos/neg wires were installed reversed.

Wow, I never thought to reverse the wires on my factory camera. That makes perfect sense though as nothing comes on when it is connected and put into reverse.

I'll be installing a bunch of mods in the next couple of days and will check it out. Thank you for the heads up!

I added an Admore light bar and a backup camera (NOT the BRP one) to my 2024 RTL.


It was a bit of work as I ran into some issues that slowed me down:
- There is one fastener that holds the rear panel on that requires a small nut driver. None of my tools fit.
I am not sure why BRP couldn't have just used a Phillips or torx rather than a nut as it would have made life MUCH easier.
- Try as I would, I could not get the picture to display when putting the Spyder in reverse. I spent a lot of time with a multi tester trying to diagnose the issue. I finally found the cause. I have...

My camera kit showed up yesterday. The first picture shows what is included in the kit including the mounting brackets and screws.

It plugged right into the connector on the left side of the bike. The wire color pattern was consistent.

Then the moment of truth. Threw it into reverse and no picture.

Checked the connection and camera is getting power when in reverse but no lights come on.

I need to find a shop manual with wiring diagram that shows the connection to the display. I'll also test the camera with another display to see if the issue is no connection to the Spyder's display.

I have to button it back up to go riding so I'm shelving this for now.
