• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well after hitting the skid plate many time in the parking lots and God knows what on the roads while riding I have decided to change to a stronger one, here it is what do you all think.

Just a couple questions. How thick a material? Did you drill your holes and then resses them, or pound it down and then drill?

By the way very very Cool and well done:clap::2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

New Skid Plate

Same problem here. Not so much on stops but bottom out on roads that I ride. Looks like you could sell a few to me. I'll take one.

looks good, If it's thick enough it might work out. But i found out that if you do hit something hard a medal skid plate will push up and stay up in the chassis plastic will pop back. I know you can't compare an ATV to a Spyder but on all my ATVs [and one 4 wheel drive truck] Eventually ive had to hammer medal skid plates out or throw them out. Also the plastic skid plate is smooth so if you hit it will slide not grab.

Mine cracked really bad from hitting things--- mainly parking lot entrances with a bump as you enter.

Not even sure if my skid plate is still attached---- I think I removed it finally.

I took a look under my RSS last night and noticed that 1/4 of my skid plate is gone and that one of the Bolts I assumed was holding the plate in place was severely bent. Terrible Toronto roads. D

You're bottoming out about 5 inches on crowned roads? Geeeez...we don't have any of those around here, thank goodness!

I took a tape measure and had a lay down in front of my RT-S and after I woke up I measured 6" minimum at the rear of the skid plate and 7" at the front... I wonder if the mods I made to the suspension raised it up.

Very nice..!!

great job..to bad it is not visable. Probably have to be a little more careful being more ridged. Plastic scratches very easily so much of it is not from hard knocks. You will feel them more with metal plate but then you will learn what to avoid.. Stamp them out you can sell a bunch...!! :2thumbs:

Like Boborgera mentioned above ... "Grabbing" ... I too think the smooth side down would be better than the textured side down.. when you hits something, the :spyder: will slid over it much easier than a textured side!! just my opinion...

Great idea and design  :2thumbs:
