• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

new rear tire

gonna need a new rear tire for our 2010 rts se5..want to go with a car tire.. any suggestions on a good size and brand?? would like to go with 4 ply... we were lucky enough to get 24,000 miles on the original tire...

i wonder which will be a better mileage and traction tire...we always ride 2 up so durability is key and safety is also...from what i have read most of these brands of tires are pretty close to being the same ...price may be the deciding factor..

Falken and Kumho seem to be lower-priced.
I tried the Falken as my first replacement and liked it a lot.
I'm giving the Kumho a try this time...

Both of these tires seem to be available for right around the $80 mark; significantly lower than others!

i guess staying with the original size would be a smart way to go..i really dont want to have any nanny or computer issues..

:agree: Why get her tailfeathers in a knot?
The aformentioned brands are available in the OEM sizing:
P225/50-R15

Toyo
Falken
Kumho
Michelin

They're all pretty darn good...
Go with the Kumho, Michelin no longer makes one this size and Toyo Proxes 4 is also on the way out although it is the best tire here. It is still available on ebay and perhaps if it in stock, but figure paying an extra $50. The Kumho has a excellent rating for wet and hydroplaning.

I went with the Toyo recently after researching. The Falken would have been my next choice, I was a bit turned off that the Falken wasn't a symmetrical tire but it's still better than the Kumho in my opinion. It's worth a few extra bucks for the best one you can get especially given the fact that these aren't the easiest things in the world to install and there's only ONE back there.

I'm also running the Toyo Proxes 4 and tomorrow I will ask my son if his wholesaler still have them. The one you have highlighted is for a sixteen" wheel. I just had him mount the last one he had in stock. Changing tires is very easy for me.

can't beat that unless your local. That's what I was going to say as well while they still have them. Shipping for us is anywhere from $10 to $40 depending were you are. Then they would be $175 installed if local.

How about..!!

A page listing all known tires for the roadsters. Then all that have used them can give their evaluations and mileage they got from them. Seems this is a very common question....:dontknow: I'm relatively new with 6500 on the Kenda and not even down to the rain blocks so it will be a bit till I need a new tire...:ohyea:

As I stated above :thumbup::thumbup:, ...................HOWEVER ,,,,This would require the use of the SEARCH FUNCTION ....and most people don't know that it exists :2excited:.....:agree:......Mike...

It seems there is no "best" tire. I've read a ton of these threads and that question is never answered. Maybe because the spyder is not old enough and not many have "tried them all" so to speak.
