• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello all,

My wife and I are longtime Goldwing riders and I plan to continue down that road. My wife however, always wanted a spyder and I finally folded when we stumbled across a used 2015 RT-S Special Edition with 1900 miles on it. We pick the bike up Saturday from the dealership and hope the weather will cooperate for a decent detour on the way home.

So far, I can see that the 2015 special edition comes with a different paint scheme, seat, wheels, exhaust, and maybe ipod interface kit. Does it come with anything different? While looking at it the other day it almost looked like it came with heated seats? Is that correct? Asking any questions from the dealer is useless as they are a Harley dealer and I had to show the salesman how to open the trunk in the front, where the gas went, etc... I was mainly looking to make sure everything opened closed properly and look for damage while doing this but this guy had no clue.

Welcome welcome....

To both this strange but most informative site and the spyder world...:clap:Not that familiar with them but I do think they have heated grips and seats...If you can get the owners manual there is a wealth of information in there you could read up on....She is going to have a great time on it....:ohyea::ohyea:

Unless the original owner changed the seat it would not be heated. You can find Spyder dealers that don't know anything about them either so don't be too hard on the Harley dealer. LOL

Thanks everyone, the weather is looking questionable for tomorrow afternoon here but my wife is still super excited and ready to pick up the Spyder. I've dang near read the entire owners manual online while we wait so I can hopefully answer any questions she may have instead of relying on the salesman. Good to know on the seat, too bad its not heated but obviously not a deal breaker. Its starting to warm up here anyway so she won't need that anytime soon.

Next question, is the factory CB the only option available that will integrate with the bike? And are there any suggestions on where to purchase a CB or other accessories?

Happy day!

She picked up the Spyder today and absolutely loves it! We used backroads (no interstates) to get the bike home and while it may have taken a little longer, she still put a few miles on the bike and had a blast. After getting home we picked up the kids and took them to dinner, on the Spyder and my Goldwing so this was our first dinner outing as a family without the car!:yes::yes::yes:

:congrats::welcome: Congrats will be an adjustment period I basically hung up my 2 wheels to spend more time with the wife, we both love it.
