• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Maintenance Schedule Booklet

I'm sure I am not the first, but I just received the new maintenance booklet from BRP today explaining the longer oil change intervals and the elimination of the 10,000 km valve inspection. They also state that they will be phasing in price reductions on the components required for Spyder oil changes. The best part that I am looking forward to is a newly developed oil filter access body panel for the RT.
They will be free until May 2013 ( voucher is required ) The voucher will come with the new booklet.
Dang it !! I just did an oil change a few days ago.:gaah:

I got my book today too. I was really tickled about it because I was going to be calling for my 3,000 mile check up within the next 2 weeks. Couldn't have come at a better time! YIPPEE!!!!!!!

Please understand that the new maintenance schedule is based on the new oil filters, so for the pending change, until you have the new filter installed, your interval technically remains at 3,000 miles.

Will those folks using HiFlo filters need to stay at 3K?

Unless you have the new metal screen reinforced oil filter P/N 420956745 you would be safer and smarter at 3000 mile intervals. I wouldn't give BRP any reason to void a warranty by not using the improved filter.

I'm sure BRP would say "Yes", although I feel otherwise. I think they will be fine, although I would not go 5K with the blended oil with either filter, personally. I just took out a Hi-Flo after 5,000 miles and it looked just like the Hi-Flo's from 3K. The full syn oil was pretty dirty, though, probably due to the wet clutch. Only your dealer can make the official call on that subject, but Hi-Flo users probably do so somewhat at their own risk. Keep in mind, though, that warranty acceptance or rejection based on this would only come into play with an engine failure, and even then, it would take a filter failure to relate the problem directly. That is unlikely, but be prepared for some hassles if it happens to you.
