• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New helmet law coming to BC first of June 2012

"The provincial government today announced new safety regulations it says are aimed at improving road safety and reducing motorcycle deaths, injuries and crashes."

I see the logic in saying that a regulation helmet law is aimed at reducing deaths and injuries, but how would wearing a beanie helmet make me any more likely to have a crash than wearing an approved half helmet? Seems a bit of hyperbole to me....and, just a question here...what happens if motorcycle fatalities or crashes go up? Will they then repeal the law? Somehow I doubt it.

"Minister of Justice and Attorney General Shirley Bond said the provincial government intends to move forward with a graduated licensing program that includes power restrictions, following additional consultation to determine the best model."

I believe that the new laws aimed at reducing motorcycle accidents and fatal injuries takes into account the new helmet law, seating laws, graduated licensing program and power restrictions. I can see how a combination of all of these changes will go a long way towards achieving the desired goals.
