• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I got this sent to me:

Has anyone read HB 136? This might get interesting. So the question is since a sling shot has a steering wheel will they be required to wear a helmet?
>
> According to the Georgia Department Of Driver Services, based on a recent law change beginning July 1, 2017, drivers in Georgia operating three-wheel auto-cycles (three-wheel motor vehicles controlled by a steering wheel) will no longer be required to possess a motorcycle license or motorcycle learner’s permit. It was moved under section 2A, under a class C.
>
> In addition, Georgia residents who wish to legally operate an auto-cycle in Georgia will no longer be required to take the DDS motorcycle knowledge test or motorcycle skills test.
> Instead, effective July 1, 2017, drivers in Georgia operating three-wheel auto-cycles will only be required to possess a valid Georgia Class C (regular) driver’s license, a valid Georgia Class CP (regular) learner’s permit, or any equivalent class of driver’s license or learner’s permit issued by another state.
>
> These changes are based on Sections 2A and 6A of House Bill 136, which was passed by the Georgia General Assembly on March 30, 2017, and signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal on May 1, 2017.
>
> Also, new fees for drivers license.

NEW GA. LAW

My question would be ...... were auto-cycle operators ever REQUIRED to wear Helmets ???? ..... I think that at this point would be the determining factor ....... jmho ....... Mike

One of the biggest gripes that I've here in New York about SlingShots, is that you have to wear a helmet to be in one...
This will help to encourage sales.
I'm just not sure that I'm keen about what it will do to the accident statistics.

HERE IN NY, as far as i know the sling shot is considered a motorcycle. but yet some owners use helmets and some don't. the ones that don't say they don't need to. so go figure

It's not really that tough to figure out: they're ignoring the regulations! :D
Helmets are required on (or in) motorcycles: until the classification of "Auto-Cycle" breaks away from the motorcycle category.

Good to know...

Still nteresting as to how they will handle the other restrictions. Not having the safety features required for cars which way will they go..??:dontknow:
