Back in early July the Clutch Basket on my 08 GS disintegrated. BRP actually determined that it was a bad solenoid and they needed to take care of it and it is in the good hands of Hanover Motosports. However I knew it was going to be a long process getting it repaired and I didn't want to miss out on prime riding season here in Central PA so I went out and bought a new still in the box 2013 ST-S leftover. I would have preferred a Black one but it was magnesium so I knew I would have to do some personalization.
Here are my mods (so far):
Replaced the 2013 panels with the 2014 panels. I had the infamous heat issue and I contacted BRP directly and so did my dealer on my behalf and the panels were sent out within two days with no argument whatsoever from BRP.
Added the Can-Am Premium Decals
Replaced the stock exhaust tip with a chrome tip.
Installed the Can-Am Spyder Trunk Liner
Contacted Pete at Wrap My Spyder and got the following:
The Break Stripe Kit in Carbon Fiber and Silver with the STS text applied.
Installed a Glossy Black Frunk Insert.
Installed a 3M Carbon Fiber Grill like I did on my GS
Installed a 3M Carbon Fiber Insert kit like I did on my GS also.
Installed the Real Carbon Fiber Dash Kit. I didn't use the entire kit because I liked the contrast with the black on my dash.
There are pictures of both my bikes on Pete's website.
From Reggy at TricLED
Installed the fender LEDs with the blinker function.
Installed the Under Seat LEDs for additional running and brake lighting.
Installed the Daytime Running LEDs.
Installed the Arc Reactor Light.
Replaced that silly way too small BRP brake pedal with the Full Size Brake Pedal.
From Custom Dynamics
Replaced the rear side marker reflectors with the Red Rear LED Brightsides.
Installed the LED Day Runner Pucks and I use them as DRLs.
Installed the Spyder Web Inlet Cover
Miscellaneous Installs
XKGlow Smartphone Controlled LED Kit
Installed 12v adapter in the frunk and on the dash in the speaker grill.
Installed a Phoenix GPS Mount
Installed Garage Door Opener
Installed a Drink Holder
Installed Nelson-Riggs Soft Bags.
Replaced the OEM Side Fairings with Bestem Carbon Fiber Side Fairings.
I have a few more things planned for the winter months. It gets to be a little expensive not so much from the farkles but because my significant other expects me to buy her new shoes when I spend x amount of dollars on the bike and she can't spell Payless Shoes...trust me. I'll post pictures when time permits. Most of the work is done by Customizer Tony Nery at TCP Cycles. He has become an expert working on Can-Ams after dealing with my bikes.
Below are a few pictures of the ST-S as delivered pre-mods.
