There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Oh yeah! 10,800 miles. Took it in for rear tire & oil change, service,,,.
Perfect! Thinking on the way home tonight, I'll have a look at the back wheel. Sure as H$ll! There are scratches around the edge of the rim. Well! Guess, that's what you get with the RS-S. Will anyone else notice? Doubt it. But, if doesn't make me very happy.

I had 3 rear tires replaced on my 2008 GS (aluminum rims - not painted). Never any visible difference. Scratches may have been there. Just not noticeable.

I would be spittin' mad! This is why whenever I take my machines into the dealer I fully detail it and then take pics so I can document the machine's condition - this way if something happens I have the proof that it wasn't there before! Have you talked to the shop yet about it? That really sucks man. I know it wouldn't bother some folks so much but I am pretty hard-core about stuff like that.

Well, hopefully they are not too bad and you can just kinda shake it off. I know what you mean about knowing they are there though...

By the time I got home tonight, the dealer was closed. And, I didn't even think about checking the wheel when I got back to work after picking it up at lunch.
Have you had the back tire replaced on your RS-S?
I'm wondering if the dealers are supposed to have a rubberized or Teflon coated lever for these black rims.

Not trying to thread steal. I had my rear tire replaced last year on my 2008 GS and I noticed afterwards that some of the teeth on the rear sprocket looked liked they had been heated and started to melt. I never mentioned it to the dealer; but, never could figure that one out.

you guys are scaring me . bought new rear rubber and am kind of fearing taking to the tire shop, but IT MUST BE DONE....

I don't know of any machine that will take a tire off and remount on a rim without touching the rim. If you have black rims, that's the price you pay.

It's still worth at least a call to the shop; but a trip over there to show them what they did would be more effective.
Good luck, and please let us know the outcome!

Yessir I have gone through a set on our RSS but ours is a 2010 and does not have the black rear wheel. It does have the chromed star fronts though. Same as Phantom 14. And when I got the machines back all was well. No scratches, marks or other signs of damage. They did a very nice job. Dudley does have a point about the black rims though - they are very hard to keep pristine.

Best of luck to you. Do let us know what if anything comes of this.

It's all in the skill and caring of the person changing the tires. Back in the '60's I changed all types of tries and wheels, crome or painted. The tire changing tools were not as good as they are today.

Busy day today... And, I began thinking maybe that's just going to happen to black wheels; their probably going to a few scratches when the tire's replaced.
But, now it's beginning to pi$$ me off! And, just think; they have another shot at it! Oh yeah! In another 10,000+ miles, it will be time for another rear tire..... And, wait for it,,,,,, front tires!!! Yeah! It will be time for 2 new front tires! Maybe, just maybe,,, that can scratch those too!!!
And, my wife just says, just now,,, "when are you going to realize, Greg; people don't give a ***** about your stuff." Ha! No kidding. :banghead:
I'm a person that cares.
I'm calling tomorrow, and let them know, I'm displeased. Will it matter? Doubt it.

TIRES
