This will be great for those who don't want the chit chat and only direct answers...New from Roger hope he works it out as he has with all the rest of his programs to help spyder ryders....
The WikiSpyder Project. This is something I have wanted to do for years.
Everybody knows about Wikipedia.
WikiSpyder is going to be, I hope, a knowledge base where the
practical experience and expertise of the Spyder community can be stored and used by others.
This will only work if you will contribute your knowledge and expertise.
I've added a Wiki "Knowledge Base" on to spyderCodes.com
And I am currently trying to figure it out.
I don't have all the details worked out, but in broad strokes here it is.
There will be categories such as Maintenance, Accessory Installation, Rydes, Events, Roadhouses and Dealers.
Initially anyone will be able to create an entry under the topics ( or create a new Topic).
For example, if you can write a procedure or add to an existing procedure on how to change the oil in a 1330. Maybe the person who initially created the 1330 oil change procedure left out a step or you can add something useful to it.
Perhaps you know a great place in your area to get a good meal. You'll be able to create an entry under Roadhouses. Then someone passing through your area will be able to read your entry and perhaps stop and check it out.
Do you have a suggestion for a great ryde? Add it to Rydes.
Just like Wikipedia others will be able to edit and add to any entry.
How does this differ from Facebook and forums?
WikiSpyder will be a place to look up information, not a place to interact with others.
It's not meant to be a social media, but a knowledge base for a few common topics.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
I don't have the website ready to accept your entries yet but I wanted to prime the pump so to speak.
Again, this will only work if you all want it to.
Think it over.
I am really interested in your comments..
