• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a 2010 RT SM5. While riding home yesterday I was going through a long sweeper at about 65mph when suddenly I lost power, just for a split second. I got an icon on the dash flashing a picture of handlebars. I got to the side of the road. The bike seemed to be running pretty good but not perfect. I checked the codes and found that I was getting C0051 for steering wheel position sensor, C006C for ECM and U0122 for DPS. No limp home mode. The DPS was updated quite a while ago. I rode the bike about a half hour to the dealer at about 50 mph with no problems and the codes were still coming up when I arrived. BUDS showed the same codes. Dealer worked on it for about an hour but couldn't find the problem, The codes cleared during the time he was checking the bike. I checked the battery connections and the fuses and everything looked to be OK. Has this happened to anyone or do you know what the problem might be???? I've got about 18,500 miles on the bike and this is the second problem, the first being the rear shock leaking. Not complaining though.

The exact same thing happened to me last year. Engine "stumbled" and got the flashing "engine" and "handlebar" icons scrolling across the bottom; it never went into limp mode. Pulled over on the side of the road, turned the bike off, waited about 3-5 minutes, started it back up with no recurring problems. Took it in to the dealer and they never could pinpoint what happened or why. I've got 15,600 miles on it and have never experinced the problem again. Very strange.

These are all communications faults. They are typically caused by a corroded or loose connection, but can also be the result of a bad wire or a sensor problem, as welll as external EFI interference. If it doesn't happen again, I wouldn't worry. If it happens in the same place every time, suspect electronic interference. If it happens in all similar turns, or on bumps, look for loose connections.
