• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need to ride with someone from illinois to spyderfest

Hello everyone. I am leaving from the south suburbs of chicago on monday april 22nd alone and was wondering if anyone is going my way. I could sure use the company. I am close to indiana, dyer, scherville, merriville etc also. I dont know anyone with a spyder but me. I bought a new spyder a 2013 blue rts with all the options and will pick it up on friday, cant drive it home now cause of the rain. Have to find a trailer to rent that will fit. My friends are concerned because i am female and they dont want me to ride by myself but i really want to go to my first spyderfest. I changed my hotel stay to monday to sunday since i am on vacation. I already know what mods i am buying at the fest too. I am fairly new when it comes to posting. I just read the posts everday and buy things you guys suggest. I just love this site. I learn alot. Cant wait to meet everyone. I am excited. This is my second spyder rt by the way.

I am not taking off until sometime Tuesday and really can't go before then. I am west of Springfield.

Spyderfest Trip

thanks for replying but i have to leave on monday cause they wont let me cancel that day.

I understand your friend's concerns. I have ridden motorcycles for years and my friends still are not comfortable with me riding by myself. Take your time, stay on the interstate and you should be fine:thumbup:. Stop every 120-130 miles to get gas (whether needed or not) drink some fluids and let some out. You will be fine.

Look forward to seeing you at Spyderfest.:yes:

I think the big ride is coming by effingham exit (70w) Tuesday morning around 10:30 est. Someone else asked about this on the Indiana forums.

I am leaving monday and riding straight through. I will take your advice fellow female rider and stop and chill at the gas stops and stay on the interstate. So far no one is leaving on monday in my direction. It looks like I will be riding by myself. Got 2 feet of water in basement this morning and now I really need this vacation. I will definitely see you guys at spydefest. i will deal with this when i get back. Going to pick up my new spyder rts friday no matter what from the dealer. The holdup was waiting for the corbin back rest to come in. I found a 6by12 foot trailer to pick up bike since the rain wont let me ride it home. BUMMER! I really need this vacation now. Thanks for everyones help.

Will you be coming anywhere near Indianapolis? I think that our route brings us throgh there on Tuesday... Champagne (james Lawrence) has put together our route... I know that there's a crew that is supposed to meet up with us near Indy...

Pretty doubtful that she would be coming through Indy. Most likely I55 or I57. Sounding more and more like the Illinois riders will need SeaDoos to get to Spyderfest this year. Its starting to remind me of Spyderfest 2011 with all of the rain.

Most days I miss having a basement but not when I hear about people with 2" of rain in theirs. Been there done that and moved to the desert.

BigLegMac tell your friends not to worry about you too much it is a pretty easy ride from where you are. Just be sure to map out your gas stops as there are a few stretches in southern IL that don't leave you many options.

I have the can am gps and i wil definitely map out where the gas stations are. I'm not near indianapolis tho. I will be in mo. by the pm on monday. I think its 7 hours from me. Will leave at 6 or 7 am. The trailer is 6feet across and the spyder is 68inches across. It should bring the bike home from the dealer friday. Thanks again everyone. Maybe i will see some spyder riders heading my way. Its just more fun when you ride with someone. I am going to work on getting my own trailer for later this year.

Would love to join you from

SE Wisconsin, picking up our RT Ltd. this Saturday, however just cannot make time to goto this Spyderfest. Best of luck on your ride down, keep us posted... I know how you feel with 2 feet of water in the basement as well....

Thank you. I will try to go to spyderfest next year also. I hope to see you there. Just got to get the insurance adjuster out to look at washer, dryer, fridge, and both furnaces. too much water.
