• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Been thinking and looking but nothing for sure yet. So I'll ask up here and see what you spyder lovers think.. I know the ST:spyder2: is seen where ever it goes :roflblack: but I want to be seen more when riding. So I was thinking about wig wags or maybe some (WHITE) strobes in the headlight. Looking more at the strobes cuz I'm going to put some HIDs on it in a few months don't think they will hold up with wig wag's. Yes I'll have the day runners on it too. I haven't seen any write ups or even heard of anyone doing this. Wig wags Ive seen on a few 2 wheel bikes . Anyone doing this?? Pros and Cons.?.
Thanks for the input !!

Strobes are illegal in every state that I know of. No flashing lights are allowed except for turn signals.

What Scotty said. Strobes are only allowed as emergency lights ie; emergency flashers as seen on DOT trucks, tow rigs, emergency vehicles, etc.

I was going to put a pair in front and back for Patriot Guard Missions and parades. It is illegal like previous posts state. If the state and local authorities say that it is ok for mission rides and parades, I'll do it.
Since Spyders and trikes are always at the back, and I'm usually the tail gunner, I wanted more than hazards to illuminate me during day rides.

Look up Power Flares on the Internet. Maybe you could attach some of these to your passerger's handles when you are doing escort rides?
All of mine have 2mm perlon cord attached through the attachment hole so I can hang them on my truck or bike.

Shop around for best price. They are not cheap. I had a couple of these hanging on my RT at last year's SpyderFest during the lighting contest.

Just my opinion, If your running tailgunner, Just Use your emergency flashers.:dontknow:

Drive a car and a spyder..

I find a spyder on the road is an amazingly visible vehicle. The light set up makes one curious when approached from front or rear. What it is makes people look. But if we try to blind the oncoming traffic might we not be tempting faith, they might swerve into your path. Glowing in the dark is cool if you like that kind of thing, just a thought...

I have the third break light and it is set to pulse in a some what random fashion. So far no police have said anything about it but I guess I will find out. I may have to drop by the station and see what they have to say about it but I did have a patrol car follow me to my driveway only to ask if he could take a closer look at my RT so he had to have seen my break light come on a dozen times or more.

Regards,
Randy

Nice to know, thanks

The modulating headlights, NOT flashing/strobing on-off, are legal in all 50 states and Canada.
But currently, they won't work with Spyder RT's. Only the RS models. Something about the head light circuit going through the computer. Not just the Hi/Lo switch.

Sat down with my dealer and we compared the wiring diagrams of both the RS and the RT.

I had to send the headlight modulator kit back. Plus, there was no where 'to plug in' the unit like on the RS.
I installed a HID headlight kit from DDM Tuning instead.
