• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Need Scala Rider G9 / GPS / Phone Help

I'm usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out, but tonight I'm stumped. I've got a pair of the new Scala Rider G9's and am trying to pair them for use with both my phone and the Zumo GPS. The book says if using both that I should pair the phone with the GPS. So if I do that , how do I pair one or the other to the Scala Rider? I've got the 2 Scala riders working fine in intercom and can make them work fine with either the GPS or the phone, but not both.

I need to solve this tonight as tomorrow morning we are going to take our first road trip.

I have the G4 but it's likely set up the same way. You have to pair them as the instructions recommends. I do not think you can sync both phones to any single device, be it the G9 or the GPS...if you each had your own setup (meaning, two phones and two Zumos), it could be done. In other words, one phone call cannot be heard on two separate headsets...

I'm not trying to pair both phones to the GPS. For now, lets forget about the 2nd phone. What I want to do is be able to use my phone and also hear the GPS through a single headset. The book says pair the phone and GPS. OK I got that. Now how do I get the audio to the headset?

Do you have GPS on your phone? I used it with my Scala and had no difficulty going to Lamonsters through the back woods from Virginia Beach, Va.

Personally, I just don't have the time to look down at a moving map.

Phone>GPS to One Headset...

Pair the phone to the GPS. Now pair the GPS to one of the headsets. The phone will be heard through the GPS, phone calls have Priority over the GPS. and will heard.

Ok first think you have to paire youre phone to gps so on the zumo on bluetooth paire with phone
and after you have to paire G9 to zumo but with the audio source
I hope it help you

Thanks all. This is what I finally figured out and ended up with. Not exactly what I expected since the G9 is a multi-link device. I lose some of the simplified phone functions doing it this way but it will work. When I'm not needing the GPS I can link directly to the phone and use the full set of bluetooth enabled voice commands for the phone.

With the pair of G9s, the wifes phone is directly linked to her headset and she & I are linked on the bluetooth intercom channel. I can't hear her phone and she can't hear the GPS or my phone but we can talk/hear each other.
