Need pics and help on Riser options...

Well it looks like we will be picking up our RS-S this weekend. And went to order some handlebar risers... Only to become overwhelmed with options to the point of not knowing what to get now.

I am 6'2" and think the 4" are what I want, but there are so many different ones with pricing all over the place I am not sure what I should get.

Suggestions?

I will be mounting the ISCI Handbrake kit and a GPS mount (Still lost on this one as well).

Looking for some pics and experiences big enough to judge the quality and usage before I end up buying three or four versions that fill up my tool box of parts...

The ESI 4 inch risers will give you two places to put Ram mounts, in fact, they'll sell you the mounts, too. The mounts go on the inside if the raised handlebar stubs. Hardest part of the install is finding where BRP hid the extra wiring and getting it loose.

I'm 5'4", and short waisted. The Helibar riser is just right for me. I don't think it would give you enough height in the bars.

I am 6'-2" and installed the 3" riser from Spyder City. This has been a great improvement for me and affordable. I didn't want to fork out the bucks for the other options, but they all get rave reviews.

Having not yet even sat on my RS... Does this one you purchased simply install under the huge factory bar and is basically a spacer? No pics on their site that I can find so far beyond the "Item" pic to tell..

I'm 6 ft. and I installed the 3" from ESI.They are a good looking product and the install was easy.:thumbup:

I am 6'-2" and have the spyder city 3" riser block and I am very happy with it. Just my 2 cents is I do not like the look of the risers that attach to the ends of the bars.

yes it is. "Simply" is a relative term, but the install is not to difficult. Just a bit time consuming.

I don't think I would want to cut that beautiful looking black handlebar.
I am using a riser block now anyway but if I get a 2011 rs, no way I would cut that handle bar.
Yes you do loose handlebar lock with riser block but it looks stock unlike other risers and almost unnoticeable up to 3 inter as I have not seen the 4 incher. I was working on a fix for the handlebar lock( a thick piece of sheetmetal attached to the factory part where handlebar lock bolts into) before my interest o. Spyder plummeted.

I like the center console option from KewlMetal with the 7" pullback bars.
It has three spots to mount accessories.

Thank you all so far for your help. My only worry right now is cutting the new bars... I read one person saying they did not and it allowed for additional mounting options for accessories... But then I wonder about it hitting my legs or tank bag... :gaah:

I love the Black Widow/ESI idea for the versatility, but these still require hacking my new bike... :chat:

If you don't want to cut your bars, then you can go the Helibar route like I did.

Install is more involved, but maintains stock bar look. I'm 6'-2" and they did wonders for me.

You can always order new stock bars from your dealer to keep on hand if you want to try the cheaper options that cut the bar ends.

I love my Helibar risers.

Well, to be honest about Magic Man, Black Widow is more than just a dealer of many products including custom dynamics. Much more. Only difference is Black Widow's pricing on many items is the same or better than most. The main difference is customer service in IMHO. Black Widow has never let me down. Can not say that for some others (ESI excluded of course...never bought from you...yet).

Besides, I was referring to the second picture of the "adjustable riders"...not the first picture on that page.

I have the Spyder City 3" block, works well for the money,could be machined a little better, although you really don't see it if you paint it black. There is no adjustability, and it raises the whole steering assembly up so that you can't see the gear # or mileage without leaning forward, but it's OK for the price, you get what you pay for.
