• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need new seat

Ouch!!!! Which do I contact for a new seat, Corbin or ESI products? Need some advice. Thanks, Lassie.

i must have a funky butt. i am very happy with stock seat and i averaged 3200 miles per month the first year.
i don't have problem with the stock seat but those who did seems happy with corbins.

I was very happy with the Sargent seat on my last bike.
The RT seat is pretty comfortable as it is, but if I needed a change I'd go with Sargent.

I was happy with the stock seat on the GS/RS, but Nancy prefers the BRP Comfort Seat. The stock RT seat is absolutely the most comfortable I have ever ridden...bar none.

On other bikes:
Corbins are like bricks to me, and I have never enjoyed one.
I had one Sargent, and it wasn't bad, but they are a bit wide for me in the front.
My Russell Day-Long was the best I ever owned up until I got my RTS.

We all are built differently. Selecting a seat is a very difficult and personal process. If you get a chance to try someone else's seat first, I would suggest doing so. Best of luck in your search.

You are going to get lots of advice on seats. My husband and I love our Russell-day long seats. The thing is, you couldn't get an idea of the comfort for you just by sitting on one of ours. (well, maybe an idea) You see they custom make each seat for the rider. We both have Russell Day-Long's but they are two different seats, made for different inseam, different weight and how we sit on our bikes. That is mostly what made us choose these seats, and they are guaranteed.

i hear ya scotty i love the look of the corbin ...,but i drive aggressively and i find myself readjusting all the time .... if i didnt spend so much on it i would have had something custom made ..... and passenger seat has never been right even after i sent it back passenger slides forward on it ...

I had mine in to a local upholsterer that does motorcycle seats and described what I wanted. They scooped out the foam in the front and back added a wedge and and some batting and now I dont have that sliding forward feel.My wife and I found a huge difference in comfort.I have the Lui Moto silver and carbon seat cover as well and it really sets off the look.Price is right also compared to a new seat.

Have a cobin and I will say I have had to adjust my driving to the seat a little - but I am in the break-in period for the seat.
I like a hard seat an the Corbin is harder than the stock seat.
I had no problems with the stock seat - but after I put the risers and new grips on I wanted to change my ryding position a little.
I like the look and the feel of the Corbin better each day I ryde. :2thumbs:

Lassie did you ever get Timmy out of that well?:roflblack:
Had to do it!

Now to the advice. Corbin has a ride in service in Holliseter, you might
want to take a ride there and check it out.

:agree:

I love my Corbin.. and just did my order online-- where they ask weight, height, inseam, etc....

It took a good 800 miles or so to break it in well... but now it forms to me just great... and feels great. The stock RS/GS seat sucks.

The Comfort seat by BRP looks pretty nice too-- and feels pretty good... but is a 'one size fits all' solution.

I too love my Corbin heated seats. :2thumbs:

BTW, welcome to the group! Did you buy your Spyder at Marina Boats in Lodi? That's my local dealer. Maybe we can ride together sometime. :)

It really depends on your butt. Sitting on as many different seats as you can is the best way to approach this. Someone with a different butt may rave about their seat but (no punn intended) it may not agree with your posterior.

Not that I am into comparing butts, but I also like the stock RS seat. I've done an 1100+ day with several 800+ days on it. Can't say I don't get a little sore but not sure there is a seat out there that will make you feel like new after that kind of ride.

Everyone is built differently. One thing for sure, there are a lot of alternatives out there. One should do a great job for you. Finding it may take a bit of effort.

Day-Long Seat

We considered both the Corbin and Day-Long seat.We went with the Day-Long because it lasts a day longer !!!!...
We talked to Deb & Brian when we were in Tenn we liked the quality and look of the Day-Long. So..........a 1000 miles later, we are enjoying the comfort and look of it on our Spyder. This was the correct choice for us.

Good Luck.:firstplace:

I had the stock for 20K and could ride all day on it, got a little sore but not to bad. Now riding two up, she didn't like riding more than 6 hours or so. I don't plan to get a backrest ever as I like the sportyness of the bike the way it is. I just got the BRP comfort seat, a bit pricey for a seat and have not been on any 12 hour rides just yet to test it out the little women already likes it much better and we have only been around town so far with it. Got it at Berts for 366 shipped.

If it makes the better half happy, then it's the right seat for sure!

I also have the comfort seat, and think it gives you good bang for the buck. Especially if you can get it for under $400 shipped like Patches did.
