• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need help with fault codes

RT-S PE#0801
Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!!
I am in need of some help with 2 fault codes that I got after some routine maintenance.
I have a 2010 RT SE5, I finally got around to installing plugs & wires I got thru BAHARON. New air & fuel filters also, still waiting on the hi temp vacuum lines, my local Napa store was out.
Long story short, after replacing all above everything was GOOD, bike started and ran great. Took it for a short ride and it performed super!!!!!!!!!!!!
I then decided to pull the front trunk and grease the A arms as well as remove the big air box resonator/intake hose.
All that went with out a problem, I re assembled the bike and started it, immediately got the ABS warning & then it went into limp mode.
It is showing C0035 & C006C fault codes.
I have checked ALL fuses and relays, drove it about 5miles in the neighborhood, checked the wheel sensors & wiring, checked all the wire plugs by disconnecting & re connecting, I also disconnected the battery & checked all the grounds. Still have the same 2 fault codes.
I am totally at a loss at this point and definitely need help!!!!!!!!:banghead:
Thanks,

C0035 is front right wheel sensor.

That means a damaged or disconnected wire going to front right wheel.

C006C ECM is reporting a communication error.

Interestingly one of the possible causes is a blown fuse for the VCM. Since the wheel sensors are connected to the VCM. That may be the common issue. I would look there first. Check your owners manual for the VCM fuses. There may be 2.

P.S. The VCM is located between the front wheels. Did you do anything with the wiring in that area.

The "art" of removing the big airbox, resonator and intake requires some wiring and other inference to be moved around to get that stuff out of there. Especially if you unbolted and moved those lateral supports. Been there, got the T-shirt. If you didn't deliberately unplug some connectors to move some wires out of the way, you may have snagged some wiring and done some damage. So, also go back over that job and recheck you have everything plugged back in and look for damage.

Now you need to download the Spyder Codes app on your cell phone so you can look up the error codes next time. In addition to the error codes it has other really good info on it.

Tough one...

I have always found that backtracking is the best way to find the problem. If it was working before you start and stopped when you finished odds are you did something along the way. I hate doing this but I would spend way to much time looking for other solution and end up backtracking anyway...good luck you will find the problem...would be nice if you let us know...remember some codes pop up because of others regardless if it is a problem....

THANKS FOR THE REPLY, ALL FUSES & RELAYS HAVE BEEN CHECKED & ARE GOOD.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY,

i GOT IT FIXED & DID EXACTLY THAT!!!! I TOOK EVERYTHING BACK APART & STARTED DISCONNECTING & RE CONNECTED EVERY CONNECTOR I COULD FIND.
I FOUND A CONNECTOR NOT QUITE MADE UP IN AN AREA THAT I DID NO WORK IN BUT MUST HAVE DISTURBED THE WIRING ENOUGH THAT THE CONNECTOR CAME APART JUST ENOUGH TO LOOSE CONTINUITY BUT WAS STILL TOGETHER.

THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.

FIXED!!!!!!!!! & THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLYS

THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.

JUST AS BILLYBOVINE SAID IT WAS THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SENSOR CONNECTOR WHERE IT IS ATTACHED BY A BRACKET TO THE DPS UNIT.
I SUSPECT BACK WHEN THE DPS WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRENTY THAT CONNECTOR DID NOT GET SQUEEZED TOGETHER ENOUGH TO ENGAGE THE LATCH & WITH ALL MY FIDDELING TUGGUNG & ETC I MOVED THE WIRING JUST ENOUGH TO PULL THE CONNECTOR APART TO DISENGAGE THE CONTACTS BUT LEFT THE RUBBER CONNECTOR STILL TOGETHER SO IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS JUST FINE.

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE REPLYS & HELP

TIMELESS
