• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need advice on riding across the country..

Hydrate, better to stop a little early for gas and a break instead of pushing it,and please get the sway bar:pray:..You will wish you had it when you encounter the crosswinds on the plains...They can be terrible..I also found out that when in high wind areas,if you get a very early start,as in 3-4 AM,you will get wind free miles until the heat of the day starts to climb, then the winds start..Also,watch for deer!!

Rain gear, and water! Drink a LOT, every time you stop. Getting dehydrated is very easy to do on a motorcycle, and can have catastrophic results. nojoke Start hydrating a few days before the trip.

Stay hydrated is very important, If you are not thirsty and do have to go to the tiolet when you stop, drink a lot water, right now. All other stuff good above. I use gator aid bottles in insulated lunch sacks, but water is important.
Packing idea is to use Zip lock bags. I put a tee shirt, shorts and socks in a bag, press the air out and it is only a fraction of its original size. Other stuff the same way. Many motels have a washer/dryer if you ask.
I would recomend joining one of the motel clubs. I use Choice Hotels Hotels. it is free and they have rewards, but the best thingMid afternoon or when you think have a stopping point, call the 800 number and make a reservation for that night. worked great for me. they will the a choice of several hotels/prices.
Most of all enjoy the trip and be safe.Enjoy it while you can.
