• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OK..winter created either a major brain fart or senior moment OR combination :roflblack::roflblack:
How the heck to get my parking brake to set (reallllly hate that alarm that says :lecturef_smilie:)? I have tried putting into N before setting (with foot brake depressed). Have tried 1st (with foot brake depressed). And anything else I can think of...
Thanks for the help--I'm not a figurin' out on my own :dontknow:.
Thanks and have a great day....so wonderful for weather that now says GO GO GO..but really don't want my alarm following me all the way to Spyderfest!!!:gaah:

Any other suggestions???

The RT is a electric Parking Brake. Turn the ignition on (don't have to start it) and press the far left front part of the switch on the switch console (back part of switch is for the front trunk release). When you press the front part of the switch the Red ICON on the left side of the cluster will light up meaning the parking brake is engaged and you shouldn't be able to roll the RT back and forth. With the key turned on again press the switch again and the red ICON will go out and you should be able to roll the RT back and forth. Turn off the key and the beeper will sound for about 10 to 15 seconds warning you the Parking break is not engaged.

OK..realize I forgot to tell you I have a 2010 RTSE5 - but looks like you figured that out. Tried your suggestions...the only icon I get on the left is a circle w/exclamation point in middle (manual says P. brake not engaged!!! - yep that would be right). And of course it will roll everywhere.
Then the other issue is if I turn front wheels to left or right and turn key 1/4 to left to "lock" in position. Does not work.
So...any other suggestions I am up for trying as I have a 3 1/2 hr. 1 way ride to dealer and usually they look, assess, order part and then we wait. If that is my only option that is what I will do. But I am planning on leaving for Spyderfest on 4/15 (actually I'm running and hiding from the IRS - and figure they'll never find me in Cuba :roflblack::roflblack:).
Appreciate any other suggestions and help.
Thanks so much.

Sounds like the cable came off the pulley. Time to visit the dealer.

Scotty (nancy's toy) You Are the Dude

Just returned from getting parking brake issue fixed. (Well not JUST as I took a 2 hr nap after getting home). Since I live 4 hrs from dealer left home at 5 am - they got right on it. And YEP Scotty your diagnosis was right on. Pulley came undone. All fixed and ready to "park" along the way to Spyderfest.
You asked for the conclusion...so now we all know that when something isn't working on Spyders...get a hold of Scotty..he's all wise!!!!! :ohyea:
