• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Nag Screen

Yesterday I made a quick run to the store. I was only inside for about 10 to 15 minutes.

I came out, started my Spyder and was driving home. I looked down at the dash screen and the nag message was still displayed. I had been driving for about 4 to 5 minutes.

I hit the button to turn off the nag screen and it went off immediately. Then the radio came on and started playing music. Just like what would happen if I was first starting my Spyder.

So why was the nag screen still on? I honestly can't remember if I hit the button to turn it off when I first started my motorcycle. But if I didn't, how did I start my motorcycle? And the radio coming on after I pushed the button would be the same thing I would expect if I was first starting my motorcycle.

Just a momentary glitch? 2012 RT-S SM-5.

Sometime if the bike has not been off for very long you can start it before the nag screen comes on, maybe that is what happened and the it finally came on?????

Here's what I know about it.
If your battery is just on the edge of 12.6 V following the regular startup sequence, the cluster will reboot and display the nag screen.

The screen will go away if you press mode.

So are you telling me that I might need a new battery?

It is the original battery.

Is this described in the manual or have you seen it written somewhere?

Agree..!!

with above..but if in doubt have battery tested.. Although your roadster is only two years old so battery should be fine...

Mine has done this several times, although not in awhile (2010 RT). I have a long history of cluster failures & am on my 5th one now, which seems to be holding up. I did replace my battery this past spring.

It's either a "Ghost in the Machine"...

Or a Battery that is starting to get tired...
Load-test it! :2thumbs:

I once was able to start my 2014 without pressing the mode button. It was running and the nag screen was still on. Like you I just hit the mode button to clear the screen and drove away. I have not tried to reenact that so not sure why or how it started.

After a short stop mine allows restart before nag screen, then nag screen may come up (requiring mode), or it may go right to speedo. It's been doing this for the 3 months I've owned it.

:agree:This has happen a couple of times with my 2012, and the battery is fine.

In 2 and 1/2 years only has happened once. I think I restarted my Spyder right when it was going to go into mode where the NAG screen was going to be reactivated. Just a fluke.
