• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. My search for the perfect oil funnel? What's yours?

The quest for perfection has many faces:
The perfect mate;
The perfect House;
The Perfect motorcycle;
The perfect tool that fits our needs of the moment......

This is my collection of funnels, accumulated over the years, and none of which is perfect when it comes time to refill the engine on any vehicle I own. Some have a filter screen, designed for fuel, not oil; the necks on some are too large to fit the oil fill opening; the small-neck ones are too long...and ALL of them drip oil when I remove them, no matter how quickly I get a paper towel under them!
And then, there's my Honda Pioneer SXS....if pouring oil in at any rate faster than a teaspoon/minute, it will back up...Slowest fill in the west!

What's your perfect funnel?

The one for my Spyder is an orange cross between your long silver one and the long blue one in your pic. Don't remember where I got it or what I bought it for but it works very well and allows the oil bottle to drain fully while I'm opening the next one.

Well…… had a “custom” one after dog relocated it for me, gnawed on tip just well enough it threaded in, was handy. Alternatives/backup are FloTool found at tractor supply like $3, with a handy screw on the quarts. No mess when done, just leave on the jug & set upright. Haven’t had any bubble issues to speak of. V Twin 998 fairly EZ (almost regular) access. Sorry, I don’t know for 1330's.

I think I have all of those, and then some. 🤣

I just try to find one that fits what I'm working on.

A suggestion on the Honda: If there's a separate dipstick, try removing it to provide a vent when filling.

Seems like I have most of them.
I hope to get one like BajaRon's post #4.
I had a very old metal funnel that was borrowed by someone.
Just can't remember who.
It is now MIA. (lost)

Ron's funnel, I believe, is for filling the radiator reservoir. The best way to get a funnel is to borrow one and not return it. LOL Forget I said that. :rolleyes:

It actually works well for pretty much everything. We like it because it sits down into the filler hole so you don't have to hold it or worry about it coming out. Though some of the others will do that as well. It won't rotate or move unexpectedly, It also gets you out away from everything so if you do spill, it's probably not going to be on the bike. And it doesn't raise the fill so high like some of the other.

There is no perfect funnel. But this one does almost everything we need for a Spyder or Ryker.
