My Next Mod - Juice Box or Performance Sway Bar

Hey Everyone, I am looking to purchase my next performance upgrade and wanted to seek some opinions.

:chat:

I am looking to purchase either the Juice Box or Performance Sway Bar for my next upgrade. To be honest in the end I will likely get both but wanted to solicit folks opinion on which to get first?

So thoughts?

Not sure I can answer with the information given. First, it depends a little on your preferences. By performance, do you prefer something that handles like it is on rails, or do you prefer the kick in the rump when you twist the throttle. Not that the stock Spyder is a real slouch in either department. Second question is, do you already have any modifications, like a performance exhaust or a performance intake? In that case you will get more bang out of a JuiceBox than you would with a stock bike with no other mods. In some cases of air/fuel system mods, you will actually need the JuiceBox to realize the full performance potential of what you have already done...and may need it to resolve lean burn issues you have created.

I agree with Scotty, who doesn't, but I would choose the sway bar, which I did.
Performance isn't all straight line, and what you may loose on the straights you'll more than make up in the corners.

I went with the juicebox first...the reason is because you are affecting the fuel/air ratio (through the fuel) and you will see immediate performance increases...and I mean noticeable! The sway bar will be an additional mod down the road but getting that steroid for your Spyder is a good way to start...make sure you have some sort of performance exhaust and a better air filter (or system)...I have ESI's green filter along with the hindle...great combo with the juice box...I see considerable changes in performance...the sway bar undoubtedly will keep your bike stiffer in the twisties, but to me, it's not as exciting a modification...IMHO, start with the juicebox!

Just got the sway bar off of EBay for 190 and free shipping.. my first mod... since getting the Spyder Saturday..thought I would learn how to ride it with the sway bar already on there....:ohyea:

The post is a little fuzzy for me...Did you install the juicebox first or the Hindle and air filter? You say the juice box,but then say to be sure and get... Did you install the juicebox and feel those were needed?? You seemed to indicate that it made a big difference in a stock bike...
Could you elaborate a little more?

With no more information than provided I'd go with the Sway Bar first. It is an instant, bolt on improvment (assuming that you ridie hard enough to utilize it).

The juice box really needs a free flowing air filter and muffler to be fully effective and you didn't say if you had done those mods yet.

Even if you have done the intake/exhaust mods, and assuming you're not having any obvious fuel mix problems, I'd still go with the Sway Bar first.

The Juice Box is a great mod for several reasons. But it won't give you a big kick in the pants. It's not a turbo or NOS and it won't make a huge amount of HP. What it does do is give you the ability to mazimize the improvement in flow from the air and exhaust mods made.

The Juice Box should give you a few more HP while improving your fuel mileage at the same time (if dialed in correctly).

Thanks for the responses thus far. As for the questions being asked, I do indeed have the Hindle installed and replaced my air filter with the K&N. Now I know there are mixed feelings on the K&N as to fit, but mine fits well and I do feel a bit of difference in engine performance. I would love to do a cold air intake and wish there was an aftermarket option other then the one they sell on ebay through the fog light. Problem there is I have the fog lights installed.

Silly me.....should have read your mods list.

I would like to see a good cold air intake option for those that have the fog lights install as well.

Hindle first, then green filter, then the juicebox...each one added more to the performance. Since the most recent computer update, I haven't ridden enough to lock down the numbers...I am running a bit rich but the bike is really fast...much more so than before the juicebox...I plan to add the swaybar in time...if you want instant gratification in speed/performance, the juicebox is the way to go, IMHO...I see a considerable difference in performance and tweaking it to maximize what you want out of your bike is a lot of fun...

I just got my JB in the mail today, can't wait to put it on (in 4 months). I also have the Kewlmetal intake and will have the MBRP exhaust going on at the same time, should be a nice boost for the Spyder.

After I get all this stuff paid for I'll be doing the sway bar and some 185/60/14 tires out front. I more in to the neck snapping power so I'm doing engine mods first.

Sounds good...enjoy!
