• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My frunk adventure

I've only had the Spyder a week and it's raining today so I was spending some time going over the bike cleaning and getting familiar with it. I had cleaned an lubed the frunk latch and when I was done I wiped off some excess grease, put the plastic cover back on and close the lid. Later I went to open the frunk and couldn't get it open. Using what I had read in the posts here I pressed down on the lid and turned the key. No good. I put my ear down near the latch (probably looked like I was playing twister) and I could hear movement. Right away I had an idea about what happened. I have one of those DIY colonoscopy cameras from Harbor Freight used it to take a look. Just as I suspected. When I wiped the excess grease off I also knocked the cable off of the latch. Hmm.. Now what?

Again with confidence based on what I had read about others being able to pop the latch with a screwdriver I got a piece or 3/32 piano wire and a plastic shipping cap I had laying around and taped it on the end of the wire to give me a little more surface area to work with. To my surprise I pushed it under the lid and popped the latch in under 10 seconds. I really thought I was going to be fishing for a while.

Now hook the wire on the latch permanently and run it somewhere under the bodywork so you can pop the latch should this happen on the road.

Me, Nick Cage, and Jolie are lifting some cars this weekend......................you doing anything? :joke:

my electric release didn't work on my frunk, brought into my dealer yesterday & they say it is under warranty, they have to order 2 parts & will have them next week for me to bring it back in. As long as for now i am under warranty i am ok with it since the manual release with the key is still working
