• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My first touring ride on the RT

sidecars

Monday, July 20th, I head off on my first real tour. I'll be out four days on my own, starting in Seattle...heading off on a ferry across Puget Sound, then down the Washington and Oregon coast to Astoria, Oregon, where I'll be staying in the historic Norblad Hotel, built in 1923. The hotel remains open as the oldest continually operated hotel in the oldest settlement west of the Rockies. It's old school. And so on, a trip of about 936 miles over four days....if the weather is OK. Am I enjoying my Spyder? damn right... and is it practical? Well, who cares, but.... I've driven it to work every day since I got it..admittedly only a week ago! 355 miles in the first 6 days.

This Tuesday my wife and I go for a first day long outing.. not quite tour, from Seattle up to Whidbey Island and the little town on Coupeville on Puget Sound. A Spyder ride was her request for her birthday. I think she might be "hooked" too. ;-)

Trip

I was stationed on Whidbey Island when I was in the Navy, great place to explore. :agree: the Oregon coast is a gorgeous place to visit. Happy and safe travels.

Ya know...

Ya know... we all drive... but why not have fun while doing it? For anyone on the fence about a Spyder.... I was watching the SPyders since 2008. I didn't quite have the funds, and I saw so many reports online of problems. Now, as I move toward retirement my wife and I thought it a nice way to spend time in our retirement together. But... life is short.. so given a good deal now.. we popped. It's early yet, but zero regrets.

One additional note. You may not realize this, but you are riding such that your head is above all the cars. I am rather tall, but you are seated up higher and can see things better. Just FYI.
