• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mounting a GPS Unit

I've got a 2008 Spyder that I would like to mount a GPS unit on. I've already had the 12v plug installed, but am having trouble trying to figure out how and where to mount the unit so I can see it in the sunlight. I've got a Garmin GPS unit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, no matter where you put the GPS, there will be some instances with the sun behind you when the sun shines girectly on the screen. A screen shade can cut the glare considerably, though. No mattrer where you choose to place the GPS, RAM mounts are probably the most versatile mounting solution. RAM brackets are available for many GPS units, and a huge variety of RAM mounts are available. You could even mount a couple of RAM balls, for instance one on the handlebars and one on the console, and mount the GPS where it is needed for the ride at the moment. I had double mounts on Nancy's RS for a while. On my RT, the center of the handlebars works fine. I seldom have glare so bad that I cannot see the GPS, especially if I move my head to shade the scree if the sun is behind me. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?17876-Simple-RAM-Mount-for-the-RT
