• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mounted my CHad from NMN but parts error

All went well with mounting the CHAD, after I trimmed the top corners as others have done. However, there is an error in the parts call-out. The parts list says there are 8 rubber washers 1/16" thick and 4 rubber washers 1/8" thick. It is exactly the opposite. So I had to use the eight 1/8" washers in the mounting assembly and the four 1/16" washers between the windshield and the metal mount. This is opposite of how it is indicated in the parts list and assembly instructions. However, I think this is how it is actually supposed to be assembled.

I assume everyone has run into this and if it has been posted here I'm surprised I haven't seen it, since I thought I was looking at everything pertaining to windscreens.

If it has been posted, I wonder if anyone has alerted the factory? They should print an errata sheet to insert in the parts box. :lecturef_smilie:

It had me going for awhile. :gaah:

Regardless, I"m sure you love your CHAD like everyone else. I'm still waiting on the BRP windshield but my patience is running very thin...I might just have to go with the CHAD!!!! Shucks...

Yes we told them they had their sizes for the washers reversed on the sheet. They just reversed the size listings on the sheet.

:dontknow: I had four thick washers and eight thin ones. Now you have me totally confused. :dontknow:

Way cool Magic Man.

BTW - I used Bone Crusher's e-mailed outline for trimming. I like the way it still leaves a fair amount of flat line on the top, rather than rounding the whole top. Looks good on my Spyder and works well, at least for the short "test" ride I went on.

Instead of using a band saw, I just cut away most of the material outside of my drawn line using my corner notcher (because I have one) and then used a sander to go to the line. Finished off with hand sanding. The beauty of this plastic is that it can be cut with a shear and wont shatter. It cuts like butter.
