• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

mods and ideas from the german forum ..

Nice looking mods to the nose. I wonder what it weighs and what affect it has on the aerodynamic forces at speed - its not like we don't have enough challenges there.

The thing that caught my eye was the fenders, they are different. I don't like the front portion of the fender, but I do like the smooth tire hugging design. The factory plastic fender requires a backbone (made of plastic too) to make the fender stiff enough given the 2 attachment points. On the 08-12 bikes, the backbone is under the fender so the top is smooth but requires the fender to sit away from the tire (clearance for the backbone) so we run 14" wheels and smaller 250mm brake discs. Our fenders have a lip on the side to mask the backbone from sight. With the 13 models, the backbone moved on top the fender so the underside was smooth. That allowed the use of a bigger [15"] wheel and [270mm] brake discs and the fender sat closer to the tire.. The other affect was better aerodynamics as the 08-12 fenders are like scoops because of the gap between the fender and tire. The 13+ models have superior aerodynamics but I don't like the looks of the backbone on top. These guys appear to have made a fender out of different material (could be metal or fiberglass) that looks to just bolt on to the factory attachment points (?). Either metal or fiberglass would be strong enough to not require the backbone. If they are made of fiberglass, they might be worth looking into as a mod to our bikes if you want a smoother look to the bike.

Cool stuff..!!

they seem to have stuff we don't...all cool though...thanks for the slide show...

I joined up to that German site and will be struggling to post in German. They have some interesting creativity in the bodywork side. I hope to learn what they are doing on the mechanical side because you can really ride fast over there. At those kinds of speeds, you better have your suspension/alignment and brakes sorted out. The modest gains in HP through mods are not going to make that much difference over stock level speeds when you are at really high speeds - maybe a few more MPH. But, improved brakes and suspension all correctly dialed in will make a really BIG difference t those speeds.
