• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anybody know why they removed the electronic frunk opener button and the trailer adjustment on the screen ?
I recently traded my 2012 for a 2015 and noticed these changes.
Thanks

The new bikes don't need the Trailer Mode anymore.
And the Frunk button was lost in last year's model... :gaah:

And the Frunk button was lost in last year's model...supposedly as a safety factor. :gaah:

Be happy that the trailer mode is no longer needed.

He's got you covered.

I do miss the electronic frunk opener. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I got to rant one more time. :roflblack::roflblack:

I do not miss either one. Trailer mode was for shifting down sooner when slowing if I recall on my 2013 RT. My 2014 I guess does not need this and must produce more compression when slowing than the two cylinder.

Still available as a dealer-installed part or DIY -- part number 219400185, $95. Comes with the needed switch; think it looks different than the older models. My tech went one step further and installed a switch like we're used to on the older models part number 710002353.

When I was in trailer mode on my '10 RTSse5, I could not upshift unless I was turning 3500 rpm's or higher. Then I found out about the transmission not "locking up" until about 3500 rpm's.

The frunk switch was removed because a few silly people were accidentally hitting the break release ,opposite toggle, and having to chase their machine.

When I tried to go that route, my dealer said it was discontinued/not available.

They lost out on some bucks, and now I am not going to buy it from them because they ticked me off by being not smart.

Don't blame you. It's not in the current paper catalog of options but my dealer got the part number from last year's catalog, put it in the computer and found it available. That was in early May. Want me to get another one and ship it to you? :roflblack:

I thank you for the offer. I am going to tough it out and continue using the key, even though it is so much easier to press a button (which is already there) and open.

I will hold off buying any further :ani29:'s until the electronic frunk opener comes back. Was that another veiled rant? :roflblack::roflblack:

I'm going to check into the possibility of ordering it online through BRP directly...
I'll let you know what happens! :D
