• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone had their F3-S long enough to require a new rear tire. How many miles before it was toast, and please add your riding style.

Grandma?
Hooligan?

(It probably makes a difference)

Thanks,

Pete

:D With the new "Hooligan-Switch" on the 2017s: you should be able to find out exactly how quickly you can destroy a tire!

Laughing...you forgot the great grannie title...

That would be me....but not sure how a great grannie rydes...but I do know how I ryde.a lot and not prone to letting grass grow under my tires..
Picked up F3 end of April...pushing 12k and my OEM still has miles left on it....probably after I get back from Sept travels and another 5000 added I will change. Will mount the Khumo Asta that I used on my RT's... You didn't ask but my OEM fronts are showing very little wear...

track days? surely you jest

Pete, the guy to ask in the Southeast, or one of the guys to ask is Kenny Butler of Florida. If you do Facebook ha can be found there. If not PM me and I can probably hook you up.

You must be asking since your "wet weather" performance has diminished, but track day lap times are less.

Kenny knows the road surface texture we have nearby and is known for turning rubber into other products like smoke or dust.

Paul: I'm asking because right now this very afternoon my odometer is showing 2600-odd miles and counting. Looking at Mapsource for mileages between my home in GA and the Ozark rally and the Red Rock rally and then home again, I'm thinking about an additional 5k miles before I'm back to my garage, or 8,000 miles total on the original tire. The original tire on my 2014 RT was still alive and well at that count.

If Prairie Spyder is at 12k and looking at still lots more, then I may be good, especially since I'm not the one who specializes in turning round black rubber things into smoking piles of charred black stringy stuff.

My F3 rear tire made it to 10,200 and it was pretty well spent. Mostly highway and country road touring. I have been known to accelerate quickly at times but no burnouts.

Replaced with Yokohama S-Drive and very happy with it so far.

Mine is about the same mileage as jcthorne's w the exception of some really good burnouts.. I will be changing it this week..

I'm on my third back tire

I have gotten 10k on each back tire. I ride mostly twisties and some rough roads in the mountans. I like to accelerate fast -- some tire chirping and some black marks but no major burnouts where I just spin and smoke it.

I'm on my 2nd set of front tires -- want to say I got the new ones at 16k
